Evidence Before Conviction.

Research is the foundation of our development process. We investigate how financial markets behave, how relationships between markets evolve, and how systematic strategies respond to different economic environments.

Research areas

Quantitative market research

Statistical relationships, market behaviour, volatility patterns and structural characteristics. We ask whether an observed pattern has a defensible explanation and whether the available data supports it.

Cross-market intelligence

Relationships between currencies, commodities, equity indices, interest rates and economic developments. Context matters: relationships can change rather than remain stable across environments.

Strategy research

Systematic investigation of momentum, mean reversion, market structure, volatility and other quantitative methods. An attractive hypothesis is a starting point for evaluation, not a ready-to-use trading solution.

Continuous validation

Historical analysis, forward observation, robustness testing and identification of changing strategy behaviour. Evidence should be reviewed as new observations become available.

What counts as evidence

Research findings are hypotheses until supported by appropriate evidence. Historical testing can help assess an idea, but it cannot establish how future markets will behave. Assumptions, data limitations, trading costs and sensitivity to market conditions all matter.

A useful research conclusion may be to participate, wait, identify no edge, or recognise insufficient evidence. The quality of the reasoning matters more than the number of trading opportunities produced.

“The objective is not to discover more trades. It is to discover better reasons to trade.”
